CK ASSET: Proceeds from UKPN Disposal to Be Deployed for Various Investments; More Options Preferable
CK ASSET (01113.HK) held an extraordinary general meeting today (27th) to vote on the proposed disposal of a 20% stake in the UK Power Networks (UKPN) business.
Upon completion of the transaction, shareholders are expected to discuss the declaration of a special dividend, Chiu Yue Seng, Executive Committee Member of the Group, said. However, amid the current volatile environment, cash is king.
The proceeds from the disposal can be deployed into different investment opportunities, providing various options and making the Company's financial position solid.
After obtaining the funds, the Group will have different options that would be beneficial to shareholders, including acquiring projects or conducting buybacks, with more options being preferable, Chiu added.

M Stanley Rates CHINA SHENHUA as Overweight, Expects Coal Prices to Continue Rising in 2Q
CHINA SHENHUA (01088.HK) recorded a net profit decline of 11% YoY and 23% QoQ in 1Q26, in line with market expectations, according to a report from Morgan Stanley.
The report highlighted the continuous rally in coal prices since February this year, which reflected market expectations of reduced imports, geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, and improving domestic demand.
Expecting power plants to begin restocking in May for the summer peak electricity demand season and coal prices to continue rising in 2Q26, Morgan Stanley maintained an Overweight rating on CHINA SHENHUA, with a target price of HKD53.6.

ZTE Rises 5%+; Brokers Say 1Q Rev. In Line, But Earnings Miss
ZTE (00763.HK) opened 1.73% lower today but managed a rebound. It last traded at HKD25.62, up 5.69%, with a volume of 24.0334 million shares, involving HKD595 million.
The company announced its results for 1Q26 last Friday (24th). In accordance with China's accounting standards, its operating revenue grew by 6.1% YoY to RMB34.989 billion.
Goldman Sachs kept a Neutral rating on ZTE but cut its target price by 7% to HKD37.5, citing that the company's revenue was in line with expectations, but GPM was under pressure. Likewise, Citi maintained a Neutral rating on ZTE with a target price of HKD25.4, considering that 1Q26 revenue met but net profit missed expectations.

EAST BUY Slumps 4% in Early Trading as 4 Popular Hosts Resign
EAST BUY (01797.HK) once sank to a bottom of HKD25.18 in today's (27th) early trading. It last traded at HKD26.36, down 4.08%, with a volume of 4.74 million shares, involving HKD123 million.
The company has seen a string of departures by four well-known Chinese hosts, who said they resigned over changes in the management and corporate philosophy.

HSBC HOLDINGS Reportedly Considers Eliminating Tuition Fee Subsidies for Children of New Employees
HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) is considering either eliminating tuition fee subsidiary for the children of new employees or adjusting total compensation as part of the Group's initiatives to standardize employee benefits globally and reduce costs, Bloomberg quoted sources as saying.
Currently, HSBC HOLDINGS provides tuition fee subsidies for staff in the mid-level and above in Hong Kong, covering 95% of tuition fees. The annual cap is $220,000 for each child in primary school and $300,000 per kid in secondary school.
It is understood that HSBC HOLDINGS has been reviewing the relevant benefits for some time but has yet to make a final decision. At present, several hundred employees are eligible for this benefit, with annual costs amounting to tens of millions of USD.
Other core HSBC HOLDINGS hubs such as London do not offer such subsidies. Employees of Hang Seng Bank, a wholly-owned subsidiary of HSBC HOLDINGS, are also not entitled to this benefit.
