CEO Wang Ning Purportedly Issues Internal Letter on POP MART Share Price Volatility
Wang Ning, Chairman and CEO of POP MART (09992.HK), issued an internal letter responding to the company's recent share price volatility, according to hearsay.

In the letter, he purportedly noted that market sentiment is often cyclical and does not fully reflect a company's intrinsic value in the long run. Such fluctuations, to a certain extent, give the company more room to grow, allowing it to strengthen its foundation and widen its competitive edge under relatively lower market attention.

However, POP MART did not issue any internal letter, Sina Tech, citing sources, reported.

POP MART opened 4.4% higher today (8th) and once surged 9.3% intraday to a peak of HKD155. The stock last reported at HKD151.2, up 6.63%, with turnover of 32.9833 million shares, involving HKD5.006 billion.

Deloitte: HK Takes Global Crown for IPO Fundraising in 1Q; Middle East Tensions Prompt Capital Reallocation
In 1Q26, Hong Kong continued to rank first globally in IPO fundraising, according to Deloitte. A total of 40 new listings were completed during this period, raising more than HKD109.9 billion, up around 504% YoY.

Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange ranked second and third, with fundraising amounts of about HKD44 billion and HKD40.2 billion, respectively.

Deloitte expects Hong Kong to stand among the global top three in IPO fundraising for the full year, with around 160 new listings raising at least HKD300 billion in total.

Edward Au, China Southern Region Managing Partner at Deloitte, said geopolitical factors have not only caused market volatility, but they have also prompted global investors to reallocate their capital. To them, Asia is a relatively safe region.

Panama Ports Company Files Arbitration Against Maersk Following Alignment with Republic of Panama and Port Takeover in Panama
Panama Ports Company, S.A. (PPC), a subsidiary of CKH HOLDINGS (00001.HK), has commenced arbitration proceedings against Maersk A/S (Maersk) in the aftermath of the takeover of the PPC port terminals in Panama.

The arbitration will be held in London. The PPC claim against Maersk is distinct from and without prejudice to ongoing steps by PPC to hold Panama to account for its anti-contract and anti-investor conduct. PPC will vigorously pursue its claims in the Maersk arbitration and its claims against Panama, as well as other rights and remedies.

The arbitration is based on a long-term contract to facilitate a collaborative approach to business through the exclusive use of PPC port terminal operations in Panama and access to a range of PPC operational facilities and information. Contrary to the contract, Maersk undermined the contract and aligned with the Republic of Panama in connection with its State campaign against PPC and scheme to replace it through a takeover that installed new port operators.
